Breast augmentation becoming the most common cosmetic procedure

Breast augmentation may make you feel more confident within yourself but will not change things if you are dissatisfied with your lifestyle. Surgery in itself will not change a life situation, but the confidence and self-assurance which result from it can indeed empower you to make the required changes, allowing you to live and enjoy your life, to the full.

Breast augmentation involves making the breasts larger by placing an implant either under the breast tissue or behind the muscle on which the breast lies. The implant is usually inserted through incisions in the inframammary fold. Breast augmentation is not just a step towards changing how the woman looks; it will represent a transformation in how she feels about herself and her body.

Breast augmentation is performed under a general anaesthetic and it is usually recommended to stay one night in hospital. After the surgery dressings will be applied which should be left in place until the sutures are removed. Breast augmentation (breast enlargement) will always leave scars on the breasts or in the armpit, and although the scars will settle over 12 or more months, the appearance of the scars does vary between different individuals. Sometimes peoples scars can be raised (hypertrophic scar). Breast Augmentation is one of the many surgeries that we provide at our cosmetic clinic. We understand that breast augmentation surgery is not one taken lightly by the patient.

Breast augmentation is the most common cosmetic procedure in the UK. Commonly referred to as a breast enlargement, this procedure helps women who have a naturally small bust or have noticed a change in their bust size that's due to weight loss or pregnancy. Breast augmentation surgery can also be performed to restore fullness of the breasts lost post pregnancy, or after losing a lot of weight. Breast implants can be used to construct new breasts in women who have had one or both of their breasts removed during breast cancer treatment. Breast augmentation is usually carried out under general anaesthesia and requires a one night stay in hospital. It may be painful especially when implants are inserted under the chest muscle.

Breast augmentation is relatively straightforward. Procedure usually takes one to two hour to complete and is usually done in general anesthesia. Breast augmentation is relatively straightforward. But as with any operation, there are risks associated with surgery and specific complications associated with this procedure. Breast augmentation is carried out under general anesthesia. There are a number of techniques of breast augmentation.

Any woman who is interested in breast augmentation should seriously consider all of the risks and potential complications associated with the procedure and with surgery in general. Breast augmentation stretches the tissues, and can be painful. This is especially true when the implants are placed under the muscle and in young women who have never had children. Before and after breast augmentation patients can usually return to work and participate in most normal activities within two weeks of surgery. Most patients are pleased with the outcome of the procedure.

Breast augmentation , surgically known as augmentation mammaplasty, is a surgical procedure used to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. One of the reasons women might choose to have this procedure is to enhance their body contour because, maybe for personal reasons, they feel that their breast size is too small. Breast augmentation surgery can be performed on an outpatient (not in the hospital) basis or in a hospital. It can be done under local anesthesia (only the breast area is numbed) or under general anesthesia (put to sleep or not aware of having surgery). Breast augmentation has become more common due to the increased safety and the reliability of implants. Patients have become more focused on optimalization of results in individual cases.

Breast augmentation surgery has been one of the most gratifying cosmetic operations from the standpoint of both the patient and the surgeon. Although controversy in the early 1990's led to widespread fear about the possibility of silicone breast implants causing autoimmune diseases, a significant body of recent scientific research has validated the overall general safety of silicone breast implants.

Breast reduction surgery under general anaesthetic

Breast reduction involves a two to three day stay in hospital. Surgery of this type is performed under general anaesthetic. Breast reduction surgery will result in swelling and discomfort for 5-7 days. Showering or bathing may not be possible for up to seven days. Breast reduction may also be called reduction mammaplasty. It is most often done in the hospital, under general anesthetic.

Breast reduction will not affect your ability to feel or detect a breast cancer if you are male or female. Your breast will, however, feel different after your operation. Breast reduction surgery may be postponed in women who intend to breast-feed. Breast reductions are usually done under a general anaesthetic. This means you will be asleep during the procedure.

Breast reduction is no contra indication to pregnancy but young women may well wish to take the fact that they are unable to breast feed into account before embarking on this procedure. Breast reduction surgery takes about two hours. Breast reduction is one of the most gratifying procedures preformed by plastic surgeons. While moderate sized breast reduction is often considered an aesthetic surgery procedure by third party payers, all patients ultimately care about the aesthetic outcome.

Breast reduction surgery can help restore proportion to your body, help you carry out those activities that you couldn’t before and regain any lost self-confidence. Breast reduction surgery may be considered by women with very large, pendulous breasts that may experience a variety of medical problems caused by the excessive weight-from back and neck pain, skin irritation and breathing problems. Bra straps may leave indentations in their shoulders. Breast reduction surgery is a more complicated operation than breast enlargement with implants, and takes 2–3 hours. Skill is needed to make both breasts look the same shape.

Breast reduction is not recommended for women who intend to breast-feed. Breast reduction or reduction mammaplasty: This procedure is more complicated than a breast enlargement. Often there is a medical necessity to operate: breasts weighing more than 400 grams can cause neck and back pain, overtax the spine and even lead to osteoporosis. Breast reduction involves reducing the amount of breast tissue whilst uplifting the breast tissue at the same time. In order to achieve the desired outcome the surgeon will need to move the nipple upwards.

Breast reduction doesn't normally require a blood transfusion. On the other hand, if a large amount of breast tissue will be removed, you may be advised you to have a unit of blood drawn beforehand.

Breast reduction surgery (reduction mammaplasty) may help relieve these symptoms. As technology advances and surgical techniques improve, more women are seeking consultations from plastic surgeons to discuss options for adjusting their breast sizes to a healthier and more comfortable level. Breast reduction before-and-after photos illustrating the results that can be expected are often extremely helpful. There are many cosmetic and plastic surgery websites on the Internet (including this one) that provide that opportunity to view breast reduction pictures. Breast reductions have been extremely successful for women with very large, pendulous breasts who have experienced medical problems caused by the excess weight of the breasts, including back and neck pain, skin irritation, skeletal deformities and breathing problems. Most women wanting a male breast reduction are in search of physical relief verses cosmetic improvement.

Breast reduction results will emerge as the swelling goes down, over the first days and weeks following the breast reduction, with the final results appearing around a year after the surgery. [4] Breast reduction surgery techniques are used that will give you the most natural shape and relieve the symptoms you may have experienced. At Renaissance Plastic Surgery , we count women who have had breast reduction among our happiest patients because not only do they look better but, more importantly, they feel better![5] Breast reduction (reduction mammoplasty) may relieve many of the symptoms mentioned above. However, there is always some scarring on the breasts as a result of surgery.[6]

Results of breast reduction vary for each individual. Your plastic surgeon will have to design a surgical procedure that will produce optimal results for your body. RESULTS: Differences between the health status of breast reduction patients and that of women in the general population were detected by the SF-36 both before and after surgery. Breast reduction surgery produced substantial change in patients' physical, social, and psychological function.
